- Warkworth Castle
Warkworth Castle is situated in Northumberland, England.
The Castle was originally constructed as a wooden fortress, some time after the Norman Conquest. It sits upon a defensive mound in a loop of the River Coquet. After the execution of Thomas Percy, 7th Earl of Northumberland in 1572 and the castle was pillaged by royal servants.The Castle is now in the care of English Heritage, and is Grade I listed building.
